• How can you obtain benefits after college, turning 26 or if you are seen as “high
functioning”?
• Is it possible to work and still receive benefits such as Medical Assistance, waivers and
federal cash benefits?
• What is a Special Needs Trust and how to create a guaranteed funding stream before
and after your lifetime? (3-Person
Retirement?)
• How do you create a separate household budget for the person with a disability and no
income at age 30?
• What is a waiver? Are there waivers for those with IQs above 70?
• How can I blend state and federal government programs while preparing for his/her
future?
• What is the difference between Medicaid and Medicare?
• How do you plan for when you and your child ages?
• The ABLE Act. What is it and what does it mean for Savings and Special Needs Trusts?
• Creating strategies on receiving benefits like SSI, SSDI, Medicaid, Medicare and waivers
while working?
• Reporting Earnings – What to do? How to do it?
• Did you know there are Social Security Work Incentives that allow you to earn more,
keep your benefits if you are
receiving job coaching and transportation to and from work?
• How can you accrue assets without disqualifying for benefits?

Testimonials

"Michele Leahy knows more about Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid, MAWD and waivers than most employees of these agencies. If it weren't for her knowledge, my son would not have a waiver. I was told by a supports' coordinator that an assessment (necessary to receive a waiver) was not done by their agency. Two days later she reversed herself. Michele worked with us throughout the process. I have been working with her for many years and can attest to the depth of her knowledge, compassion and the passion she has in helping her clients get services."

"No one prepares you for navigating the complex system after age 18. When our son, who is on the Autism Spectrum, aged out of the system at 21, everything stopped and there was no guidance for the future. We spent the next five years stumbling. After our son was denied SSI and SSDI at age 26, I attended an event with Michele Leahy. She literally changed our life!! For once there was a plan for the future and hope. She guided us and we did everything she instructed us to do. In court she was our representative and because of her, we were approved for SSI and SSDI. Michele's knowledge of waivers, social security, ABLE account, SSI/SSDI, Special Needs Trusts etc was the key and an answer to our prayers. She strategically made a plan for our son's future and is working with us to carry it out. This is so important because the day will come when we are no longer around to care for him. We continue to work with Michele and her team as various items arise. There's always paperwork to be completed and state guidelines that need to be followed. She keeps informed of all of this and educates us so resources continue. It's so important to know this information and have access to a person like Michele so services continue. She's always an email or phone call away. We call her our angel because without her our son would not have SSI or SSDI and a plan for his future. We recently referred a family to her who were also denied SSI. They worked with Michele and they are now approved after going to court. If you need help with your child's services she's the one to seek out."
