Having a child who just doesn't “fit in” academically, socially, and/or emotionally can lead to not feeling safe, misunderstood or a sense of belonging This is a breeding ground for “behaviors”, which often are a sign of social, emotional, or academic regression.

I am a board-certified special education advocate with over 10 years of experience with the IEP/504 process as a Board-Certified Special Education Advocate, I assist families who have children that would benefit from services within the school setting needed to access their education.

My process begins with reviewing 2-3 years of data to help identify gaps in the current services, as well as determine if there is regression academically, emotionally, or socially. This information is empowering. I walk this journey with the parents/caretakers from start to finish; from drafting correspondences to being the voice at a meeting; this looks different for every case as children need to be looked at as a whole; independently and individualized. Through a team approach we will collaborate with various professionals to determine the most appropriate next steps for your child. I will work with you to understand the process, to understand what to ask for and how to monitor the progression. Parents will gain a holistic view of their child and learn how to advocate for those needs in and out of a meeting committed to understanding the child as a whole. I have partnered with several professionals as well as the Center for Change in Kennett Square where we offer trauma therapy, counseling, mediation, and legal counsel.

I am a member of the Council of Parent Attorneys and Advocates (COPPA) as well as the National Special Education Advocacy Institute. I hold a master's degree in Multicultural Education and am certified in elementary education. I am well versed in the special education laws and regulations of districts as well as the State and Federal laws. My Special Education Advocacy Board Certification is through National Special Education Advocacy.
